Summer Daytrip

Took the kiddos to The Florida Aquarium for the day. We had a great time. We've been before, but the last time it was super crowded and I somehow forgot Jane's stroller, so I had to schlep her all over the place. This time, she was on wheels and that was a game changer. We got there right when it opened and almost had the place to ourselves. Here's some of the better photos we took:

 Julian loves all the hands on stuff
Crazy about sea dragons.
Lining up a great shot

Even baby girl had a wonderful time
Glowing moon jellies
Momma's got to have some fun too!

Right now Tampa Bay area McDonald's have coupons- "Buy an adult ticket, get a kid ticket free". LivingSocial is also running a deal right now. You can always save a couple bucks by buying your tickets online. To visit the official aquarium website go to http://www.flaquarium.org/

Thanksgiving

I've abandoned my photo-of-the-Day quest. Life just got too crazy and now I'm 2 months behind, so I'm allowing myself to let it go. I'll backtrack a little since I didn't post in November at all. We went up to the country house in north Georgia for Thanksgiving. I just needed a break after a non-stop schedule and all the events I ran. It was a great trip and it really helped me regain some energy and focus before coming home to the Christmas selling and craft show season. The weekend after Thanksgiving, instead of shopping, we drove over to Greenville and spent a few days with some good friends. We took the kids to the zoo and then got a sitter for the evening. We had an extraordinary dinner at American Grocery, a farm-to-table style restaurant, and then went and saw Million Dollar Quartet- The Musical. Here's some photos:

Julian invented a game with the random stuff he found in the shed.

He kept changing the rules so much of it was just running around.

Too Early

Sunday, September 30th~  in which general exhaustion ensued... Not my best day, but it was a good day church-wise. I'm starting my holiday selling season tomorrow. It's exciting, but it also means a crazy schedule from now until the end of the year. I'm already looking forward to our little Thanksgiving trip. =)

Vintage Rudolph book- the cover is trashed but it'd make cute framed artwork.

Still feels too early for all of this!

Thai Textile

Muhn-day!!! (Sep 10, 2012)- I felt that photographing a photography exhibit was plagiarist somehow so I didn't take any pictures of the most interesting part of my day. What was the second most interesting part? There wasn't one. I'm ready for a trip. I got this vintage Thai textile when I was there in 2005. I have a much larger piece in Julian's room, so I'm selling this one. I don't have a good place to put it.

Thai quilted block
PS- Read Psalms 121 this morning. It's too beautiful not to share!

 I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
    where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
    the Maker of heaven and earth.
 He will not let your foot slip—
    he who watches over you will not slumber;
indeed, he who watches over Israel
    will neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord watches over you—
    the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
 the sun will not harm you by day,
    nor the moon by night.
The Lord will keep you from all harm—
    he will watch over your life;
the Lord will watch over your coming and going
    both now and forevermore.

Return of Saturn

from June 21st~

Had hoped today would be a stay-at-home all day in our pajamas sort of day. It did not quite happen but still was decent enough. We're unpacked and laundry is mostly done. Tomorrow I have a lot of packages to ship. Julian has also asserted that he wants to go "somewhere". I think our trip spoiled him a little. He also asked if we were going to the airport this afternoon. The nearest I want to be to an airplane is starting the final season of LOST tonight!

Coming Home

from Wednesday, June 20th~

Julian is an old pro at flying

We are headed home today. Initially we thought we might end up staying a little longer, but after yesterday's discussion, we definitely are not. Not a great way to end a trip, but that's that. Jonathan came and met us for lunch before we headed to the airport. He somehow got the leg of a road-killed deer tangled up under his car. That provided some gross, but much needed comedy.

So now we're headed back home. It will probably be more than a year before we go back. Julian will be so much more mature. Grandpa will probably be gone. (He was not doing well today at all.) Things will be very changed.

Made It

Monday, June 11~

We made it to Missouri! After a delay and some of the worst turbulence I've ever experiences, it felt like an accomplishment to walk out of the Springfield airport! We're spending the night in Bolivar with my mom, Joy and her kids. Felt a little like we were crashing a party, but the cousins are happy to see each other.
Grandpa Y is not nearly as clear, mentally, as he was in December. His reactions are much slower and he sleeps much of the day. Bridget, on the other hand, is still a spry old gal!
