Posting to Post

Hi... Hello... Yes, I still blog... occasionally. I'm just totally in love with Instagram at the moment so my attention has been over there more. If you want to follow me, I'm also TheRiCharmedLife on there. I have to warn you though, I break all the rules of what a good Instagram should be. I post pictures of my kids, my dog, selfies, my food, my art and stuff I'd like to sell. I should really tidy it up, but I don't really care to. Take me or leave me! The crazy thing is I'm almost to five hundred followers, even after the great spam account clean up of January.

We celebrated our 12th anniversary earlier this month.

In other news- my baby brother is getting married!!! I leave at the crack of dawn (ugh...) Thursday morning to fly up to the big MO for the festivities. It's going to be a very small wedding, but I'm staying almost a whole week, so I'm hoping to see lots of family during that time. And get this, I'm going all by myself. I'm entrusting my darling babies to Jason and God. Hopefully all will go well. I'm not expecting much- alive and in good health works for me.

My bro & I back in the Y2K days...

Hope you all have a lovely spring break. Remember to protect your skin and hydrate! That is all.

Souvenirs

Souvenirs... Maybe it's where I live (Clearwater, FL), but when I think of souvenirs, I think of one of those tacky, neon-lit shops that can be found in any big beach town in the US. Vintage mementos are just so much cooler. When I travel, I usually ignore the obvious tourist traps and look for something that's useful and beautiful to me. I would guess that a third of my Etsy shop listings feature items that were brought back to the US as a souvenirs.
Here are a few of my current offerings- no bad t-shirts or bored sales clerks! Click on the captions if you're interested in more information.

"Roma Basilica de S Pietro"
"Cape Cod"

"Atlantic City, NJ"

"Florida"
"Innsbruck, Austria"
"Karlovy Vary"
"Florida"
"Lancashire, England"
One last "Florida" one!

For the Love of Clearwater Exhibit

My jewelry is featured! Check it out at the main Clearwater Library downtown, now until September 13th.

YA Book Club

I cannot seem to get my book read for book club tomorrow night! It's a classic, which I tend to love, so it's not a content thing. I think it's just that I'm out of my reading time and space. Normally I read before I go to bed. I'm comfy, in bed, and I just read myself to sleep. Now that Miss Jane shares our bedroom, lights are off at 10 pm and I've been watching TV (or blogging  =p) until I fall into bed. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get it finished!

Daddy-Long-Legs by Jean Webster

While I have your attention, let me give a little plug for the book club. We read young adult fiction- some old titles, some new releases. Forever Young Adult is the website that we're organized through. We meet once a month. Right now we're meeting at Grind House Bar & Grill in Clearwater, usually on a Monday night. If you are in the Tampa Bay area and enjoy reading young adult fiction, you should join us! We do all actually read the books and discuss them.

Happy 4th!

from Wednesday, July 4th~

Happy 4th of July! Had family lunch for the nephew's birthday, dinner with friends and then fireworks downtown. It was Julian's first firework show. He liked it pretty well, but found lots of other distractions that were equally amusing.

Clearwater Marine Aquarium

Thursday, May 24, 2012~

Finally got Julian to the marine aquarium! Well, my friend Jen got us there and in, but still I had to... agree to come! It's not very big so we got to see everything we wanted to. I think Julian could have stayed at the sting ray petting area for hours. I liked watching the dolphins play.
