The Tooth Fairy

So yesterday it became apparent that Julian's loose tooth needed to come out. It was just about dangling and he wanted me to pull it out, but I was too squeamish to even consider it. Of course it would be a day when Jason works late, so it was nearly bedtime before the tooth was liberated. Julian is pretty tough so there was maybe a tear or two, but not much more than that.

Julian had heard rumors of a tooth fairy that brings great riches, so he was pretty excited about leaving his tooth under his pillow. Later, when we went in to make the tooth-cash exchange, the door didn't seem to want to open.

He fell asleep peeking under the door. We're pretty sure he was keeping a look out for the tooth fairy. He might have been just spying on us, but he can't see anything but the hallway from that view, so there wouldn't be much to see. Thankfully the resident fairy is pretty nimble and squeezed in around him.

This morning he was pretty pleased with the dollar bill the fairy left. He told me that must be what a tooth costs and that we'll have to go to the store to buy a new one. In the mirror, I showed him the new tooth pushing up. He seemed pretty happy because now he can buy "anything in the whole entire dollar store"! silly

Sleepy Sister

July 8, 2013-

It's raining again and, yet, still super humid. We're all a little sleepy on this warm Monday. One of my new favorite things is napping with Miss Jane. She snuggles up into a little ball next to me. I love having a cuddly baby this time around!

July 9, 2013-

Julian has his first lose tooth. I can't believe we're to that point. I remember when he got that tooth! It was one of the first ones to come in and it was a miserable two weeks arriving. He seemed to get four teeth at the same time. That time period seemed like it would never end and now it seems to have flown by. I'm having to look closely at socks to decide if they are his or mine, teeth are about to fall out, and he begs to get on my computer. I feel like I'm going to wake up tomorrow and he'll be as tall as me!

Sleepytime

Wednesday, September 19th~ Not sleeping well lately. I just wake up every hour. After 4 am, every time I wake up, my mind starts racing and I have a horrid time going back to sleep. I've always struggled with sleep and I think that's exacerbated by caffeine later in the day and just being under a lot of stress.

Here's some of the stuff I've got listed on eBay at the moment:

White party GAP dress

Vintage bamboo print halter top

My prized embroidered jacket, I can't believe I'm selling this!

Blue peasant top

Children's Chinese Prince outfit

Another favorite I really don't want to sell- padded Asian brocade jacket

Peacock top

Red Chinoserie jacket- this one you have to go to the auction to see the amazing embroidery on this- pagodas, geishas, birds, oh, my!

Life is Forever! Death is a Dream!

Life is Forever!  Death is a Dream!

If we did not go to sleep at night
We'd never awaken to see the light,
And the joy of watching a new day break
Or meeting the dawn by some quiet lake
Would never be ours unless we slept
With God and all His angels kept
A vigil through this "little death"
That's over with the morning's breath-
And death, too, is a time of sleeping,
For those who die are in God's keeping
And there's a "sunrise" for each soul,
For life, not death is God's promised goal-
So trust God's promise and doubt Him never
For only through death can man live forever!

Sleep

Saturday, June 30, 2012~

Daddy brought home a huge cookie for Juju

I think I could have just stayed in bed today and slept the day away. But we needed to clean up all the storm debris and there's a kid to take care of so I had to get up. Those of you who can still sleep half a Saturday away, enjoy it!

PS- Jason's always up before me so I can't even really complain!

Shut It Down

from Saturday, May 19th~

Sleepy. Photographed stuff for my Etsy shop, went to a nice baby shower today then got to do foot treatments then play bunco. It was go, go, go and now I can't wind down. Jason has on the new Tron movie and it's pretty awful so that's not helping. Nothing like being exhausted and not able to sleep...

R & R

Sunday, April 29th~

We all need days to just relax. Thanks to my in-laws, who took Julian for the night, Jason and I got to sleep in a little before heading to service. We had a leisurely lunch with them and then just relaxed the afternoon away. Our community group meets in the evening so we wrapped up the day with that. It was much needed. God knew what He was doing when he gave us a day of rest!

Genesis 2:2
On the seventh day God had finished his work of creation, so he rested from all his work.

Matthew 11:28–30
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

Psalm 37:7
Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who carries out wicked schemes.

Hebrews 4:9-11
There remains therefore a Sabbath rest for the people of God. For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall through following the same example of disobedience.

Taking Care

from Wednesday, April 4, 2012~

Think we are just about ready for Easter! He's practicing his pixie stick technique. I could use a sugar rush about now. Today was full and it was mostly good stuff, but tonight I find myself just drained. We were in band practice until close to 10 pm so that's a big part of it. The rest is emotional, I think. I'm very up and down lately. It's late nights, poor food choices, and just a lot on my heart and mind. Think I need to pray more and take care of myself a little better.

Colossians 4:2 " Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart."
