Sleepy Sister

July 8, 2013-

It's raining again and, yet, still super humid. We're all a little sleepy on this warm Monday. One of my new favorite things is napping with Miss Jane. She snuggles up into a little ball next to me. I love having a cuddly baby this time around!

July 9, 2013-

Julian has his first lose tooth. I can't believe we're to that point. I remember when he got that tooth! It was one of the first ones to come in and it was a miserable two weeks arriving. He seemed to get four teeth at the same time. That time period seemed like it would never end and now it seems to have flown by. I'm having to look closely at socks to decide if they are his or mine, teeth are about to fall out, and he begs to get on my computer. I feel like I'm going to wake up tomorrow and he'll be as tall as me!

Zumba and the New Sneaks

Monday, July 2nd~

First Zumba class in a looooooong time! I'm out of practice and use to a different leading style, but it was good to do it again. I'm hoping the paint fumes will be gone next week, as well as the basketballs that kept rolling in the way! Julian had expressed that he wanted to join in, but then when the bigger kids were throwing the balls around, he got distracted and bailed on me.

My new sneakers finally feel a little more broken in. I picked them up at the Nike outlet when we were in Missouri. I refuse to pay full retail price, even if I do buy kid's sizes! I really liked my last pair so I was hoping they were a model they still made or that they'd have something very similar. No such luck, but so far the new ones have been pretty good. They did well at Zumba and also the long distance walking training I've been doing. Now if  I only got that burst of energy the experts say people get after a good workout!

Sneaker Suggestions?

Wednesday, May 30, 2012~

Really am fond of these, but the insides look like swiss cheese.

Today was my first morning "training" for the half marathon in November. It's just over 13 miles and you get 4 hours. Started out this morning seeing how far I went in a hour at a nice pace. I did 3.33 miles which, if we kept that pace, would get us in under the 4 hours limit, but that's not the point. It was more just seeing how much improvement is needed. I usually walk 5k once a week so this was barely more than that. Just have to work on time now. We've planned on walking the half marathon too, but who knows, we have so much time, we may end up jogging a bit.

Now all I need is a new pair of shoes. I've worn huge holes in the back of my current pair, but I love them so I've put off replacing them. They're Nikes, but I'm not tied to that brand. Any one suggest a good running/walking shoe?
