Age Appropriate Expectations

Saturday, September 15th~ Another soccer game! He still doesn't get it. =p Who cares, he's having fun! I'm actually surprised that some parents care a lot already. They're 4-5 year olds, as long as they're burning energy and not breaking things, it's all good!

A Nice Day

Friday, May 18, 2012~

Such a nice day... We met up with daddy for lunch and then ran errands. I know once Julian starts school this fall, our schedule will be much more rigid and my morning errands will be done solo. Sometimes it's a pain to have to reign in a 4 year old at the store, but I'll miss these moments and the real, unposed little smiles he bestows on me when we're out and about.

Tonight Jason picked up sushi from our favorite little place and we just hung out here at home. I really don't mind a quiet Friday night these days. We still get out a bit during the week. Jason and I have just been eating up Season 2 of LOST and we have ways of entertaining ourselves so even a night in isn't boring!

Green Giant

Tuesday, March 27th~

Ha ha! I finally have proof of how much my kid loves broccoli! He calls it "broccobi". He put down 2 crowns of it today. I barely got this photo before it was gone. You can see the empty stalk in his hand. Crazy boy! He's pretty tall, but lately he's been eating non-stop and sleeping longer. It seems like growth spurt behavior, but I'm having a hard time imagining that. Guess we'll see!

Lunch Date

Wednesday, March 7th~

I had a lunch date today. We've had a rough couple days so we needed a fun afternoon. He's not always going to think that a mall date with mom is a fabulous idea, but we had a great time today. I saw a college professor of mine while we were eating lunch and I said hello and, of course, Julian had questions so we got to talk a bit about school. He had a kid just come after him aggressively in the play area and I watched him first defend himself and then purposely get away from the situation. I was a proud mama! Anyway, I think it's important to be intentional in planning fun, especially in the bad stages or when you're just butting heads all the time.
