Latest Appointment

Had another appointment this morning. I had them check again to make sure our little darling is for sure a girl. I've already got mommy-goggles and think she's adorable- even though the ultrasound images are a little creepy! The technician said she was 100% sure that baby is indeed female, so I guess we can really start planning for Baby Jane! She's on target for everything.

I'm doing pretty good too- although the weight thing is slightly off. I'm supposed to have gained about 10 lbs by this point. Last appointment, I'd gained 3 and they encouraged me to eat more and try to add another pound in the month before my appointment today. I have zero appetite, but I didn't skip meals and I eat snacks and have switched to whole milk. I'm eating cream cheese and sour cream and full fat cheese and everything I can that doesn't make my blood sugar spike. My scale at home didn't register a change so I drank a ton of liquid before my appointment and kept my boots on when I weighed. And it showed I lost a half pound instead of gaining any. I think my weight is just redistributing itself. My stomach is totally popping out now and my upper body (chin included, unfortunately) are definitely bigger!

We got a bassinet dropped off today too so that added to the excitement. It's very nice and was given to us by a friend. Here's the stock photo of it:

It's so strange and exciting to really be planning for another family member. For the last couple years I really believed we wouldn't be in this position again.

Pretty New Thing

I have to post a photo of the first little girl thing I have for my baby! The simple design and the Asian fabrics are so my style.

PS- While this dress is not available, you can see more of Lishyloo's stuff on her Etsy shop.

Old Friends Adieu!

Wednesday, September 12~

Listed some old friends today:

My turquoise foo dog has been with me for years. It's always bothered me that I only had one though. These come in pairs and should be displayed as such. She is lovely and I know someone else would be more than happy to take this single mom home. (Yes- she's a female! They're shown with a cub often. Her's happens to be gold!)
This old fellow dates from occupied Japan. His little cart is hinged and opens. He was designed to hold cigarettes and we don't keep those around so we'll let him run off to a new owner!

This was actually an estate sale find. It's a Prevost botanical print. You can't believe how pretty this is- the closer you get, the lovelier. I initially got it thinking the pink would work in my bathroom, but then I ended up getting a paisley shower curtain and going a different direction. A steamy bathroom wouldn't be a good spot for this anyway...

PS- Click on any of the photos to see the Etsy listing.

Dirty Girl

Wednesday, March 21st~

So messy- to make and transport!
And you are wondering what the heck this is... It's the start of an Easter object lesson. My friend Jessie discovered in on Pinterest. Jessie is probably my most creative friend and I love following her down the rabbit hole of craftiness. Here's the blog it's from originally. Now, this will be a little different than the blog one, but it should sprout edible wheat grass and we'll add crosses on Good Friday and put a small Jesus figure in the "tomb". There's a lid that we'll seal up. The night before Easter, when the child is in bed, we open the tomb and take the Jesus out. Sunday morning we talk about why it's empty now. I think he'll be into it and it's a good intro to the real meaning of Easter for us.
