Mother's Day Surprise

Friday, May 11, 2012~

Jason planned a Mother's Day surprise for me this evening. First he took me to my favorite Thai place, Chiang Mai. (I just so happened to have a Groupon there so that was nice too.) It's got a nice ambiance for date night conversation and the food is really good!
After that we strolled down to The Capitol Theater (which use to be the Royalty. It's one of Clearwater's few historic buildings not taken over by the $cientology cult). Earlier Jason had purchased tickets to see Ferris Bueller's Day Off. It was a great surprise. He even thought to pick up snacks for the show.
I was pretty young when that movie came out so I hadn't seen it in the theater. Somehow it's funnier when you watch it with a bunch of strangers. There was also a guy who reminded me of the brother in Something About Mary, a special needs fellow. He was unintentionally saying the funniest things loud enough for the whole theater to hear. It was kind of awesome.

Julie,

I am so glad you had such a good day! I have been wanting to see Ferris Bueller's Day Off again recently, myself.

Regarding the "$cientology cult", I would just offer that you should be careful with what you say on your blog, as you may not know who you may be offending and may not have all of your facts straight. Being the head of the Tampa Bay Etsy crew may mean that you have a large amount of Etsians from the area who find what you say offensive.

I can appreciate that and my intent is not to offend. I also cannot deny my personal experiences.
