Happy birthday, J!

August 1, 2012~
Any resemblance?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JASON!!! As you've probably guessed, we went and saw the latest Batman movie. It was great. We had a great day all around as Jason took off work. It feels like a Saturday which is a little disorientating. Maybe music practice tonight will get us back to Wednesday.

Running Out of Time

from July 10, 2012~

Julian says he's "so sick of black suitcases!" so I guess we better switch to the beat up red one. =p

I feel like I have so much to do before we leave tomorrow. I guess the one thing that I'm hoping is that packing will be easier as we were just up there and I have a better idea of what we'll need. I also left a few things up there so I don't have to pack as much anyway.

In more exciting news... Tonight Jason and I are going on a date! We've both been dying to see Moonrise Kingdom so I think we're just going to grab something quick for dinner and hit the theater. We just have to spend a little time alone with each other, it's been too long since we last did.

In sad news, my grandpa probable only has another 24-48 hours. Part of me hopes we can make it to see him one last time. But this last trip up I did get to say my goodbyes. He was mentally clearer then than he is now so I think that it was good that I did so.

Movies

Juju pretending to be an "oarfish". What an imagination!

Jason's got a show tonight. I've got a tired kid and a stack of movies to watch before we leave Monday. I'm tempted to add movie reviews to my blog, but then I think about how I seldom see movies that are current or relevant in any way.

Mother's Day Surprise

Friday, May 11, 2012~

Jason planned a Mother's Day surprise for me this evening. First he took me to my favorite Thai place, Chiang Mai. (I just so happened to have a Groupon there so that was nice too.) It's got a nice ambiance for date night conversation and the food is really good!
After that we strolled down to The Capitol Theater (which use to be the Royalty. It's one of Clearwater's few historic buildings not taken over by the $cientology cult). Earlier Jason had purchased tickets to see Ferris Bueller's Day Off. It was a great surprise. He even thought to pick up snacks for the show.
I was pretty young when that movie came out so I hadn't seen it in the theater. Somehow it's funnier when you watch it with a bunch of strangers. There was also a guy who reminded me of the brother in Something About Mary, a special needs fellow. He was unintentionally saying the funniest things loud enough for the whole theater to hear. It was kind of awesome.

Hunger Games Outing

March 23rd~

Gotta love how bad the phone camera is in dim lighting! Bad angle too...

So this is us at The Hunger Games movie tonight. I'm not going to review it because people who have read the books seemed to feel very differently from those who haven't and I don't know which camp you are in. I enjoyed being there on opening day and we were in fun company. Wish we could've gone out afterwards for more discussion, but the in-laws were at the house and I didn't want to keep them up late.
