Fall Flower Arrangement

Made this yesterday. They're super easy and a nice way to say. "Hey fall, how you doin'?".

Here's what you need:

Smallish pumpkin
Carving knife
Small disposable plastic cup
Preservative mix*
Fresh flowers in fall colors
  1. Carve hole in pumpkin top, large enough for the plastic cup to fit snugly in.
  2. Gut the pumpkin
  3. Fill up plastic cup halfway with flower preservative*
  4. Place cup in the pumpkin
  5. Trim flowers to fit in the plastic cup
  6. Arrange flowers
*2 cups lemon-lime carbonated beverage (e.g., Sprite™ or 7-Up™)
 1/2 teaspoon household chlorine bleach
 2 cups warm water

I absolutely love it! I love doing things like that, too. Does that preservative mix work for basically any type of flower? I sure never in a million years would have thought it would contain those ingredients!

It's a recipe from a florist, so I think it work for pretty much anything. Exact measurements are important though.
