Halloween on My Mind

Amazing how much fun a simple Happy Meal mask can be! We're just a couple weeks away so Halloween in on my mind a lot. It's cheesy, but we kind of like to have a family theme. We let Juju pick what he wants to be and then plan around that.We were all Green Lanterns last year.

This year Julian wanted to be a giant squid. We'd also decided to participate in our church's Trunk or Treat so it was an easy choice to do an ocean theme for that. I will be attempting to make some sort of jellyfish costume for myself. Jane has a cute mermaid outfit and Jason is trying to pull together some sort of salty sea captain look. Hope it all comes together! If you'd like to check out the results in person, Trunk or Treat is Wednesday, October 30th, 6:30 pm to 8 pm at Skycrest Community Church.

Shame & Guilt

from Sunday, May 6, 2012~

Vintage folk art panda, not for sale! The photo is...  Some people find her creepy, but I think she's really sweet. She was in Juju's room, but he moved her out. Guess he's in the group that isn't a fan!

PC gave a really great sermon this morning about Guilt & Shame. You can listen to it here. You wouldn't think it would be an encouraging topic, but it really was.

Hebrews 9:14, "How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?"

Psalms 103:12, "As far as the east is from the west, so far hath He removed our transgressions from us."

Romans 8:1, "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus..."

Psalms 103:2-4, "Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all our iniquities; who heals all our diseases; Who redeems my life from destruction; who crowns us with lovingkindness and tender mercies;"
